The Raktdan shivir was organized under the support of Mr. Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman, Index Group of Institutes and with the guidance of Dr.(Prof.) Smriti G Solomon, Principal,Index Nursing College. The program was organized by Index Nursing College NNS Unit. The program was organized by Index Nursing College, the programme was organized for one day and the timings were from 10:00 AM to 01:00PM at Index Medical College Hospital and Research Center. Programme was started by warm welcoming of Dr. Prof. Smriti G Solomon, Principal, Index Nursing College by Dr. Prabhanshu Vyas NSS Program officer Index Nursing College and programme. Around 10 NSS students of Index Nursing College participated in this Rakt Dan shivir. Our volunteers carried awareness boards to create awareness among people. The program was concluded with thanks giving by Dr. Prabhanshu Vyas NSS program officer.
Index Nursing College affiliated to Malwanchal University organized workshop on “Enabling Breastfeeding: Making a Difference for Working Parents on 04:08:2023 with the commendation of Mr. Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman, Index and Amaltas Group of Institutions under the guidance of Dr. Prof. Smriti G. Solomon, Principal, Index Nursing College. The program was organized for one day and the timings were from 9:30 am to 3:45pm. The workshop started with registration and pretest at 9:30am. This was followed by inaugural ceremony. The Chief Guest was Dr. Swati Prashant, Medical superintendent, Index Medical College Hospital & Research Center, Indore, M.P. The inauguration session was started with lighting the lamp by the chief guest with the Principal and Organizing Secretary. After lamp lighting, welcome speech was delivered by Ms. Harshita Agrawal, Tutor, Index Nursing College. The first thought provoking session was initiated at 10:30 am and was given by the chief guest, Dr. Swati Prashant, Medical superintendent, Index Medical College Hospital & Research Center, Indore, M.P. on “Introduction regarding breastfeeding”. In the session she discussed about the basic concepts of breastfeeding, the rising need of exclusive breastfeeding and the introduction of nutritionally adequate and safe complementary foods with continued breastfeeding up to two years old or beyond. The session was followed by tea-break at 11:00am. The second session was delivered by Dr. Thounaojam Bidyani Devi, Prof. OBG dept. Index Nursing College on “Enabling breastfeeding at workplace” at 11:10 am. The students were educated about the need of the theme and its importance. She explained about the imperative ways to support breastfeeding at workplace, breastfeeding policy, maternity rights and expressed breastmilk facilities in workplace. The third session was deal by Dr. Anu V. Kumar, HOD, OBG department, Index Nursing College discussed on “Advocacy material about the importance of breastfeeding” at 12:00 noon. She discussed about the objectives of breastfeeding by World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), a global network of individuals and organisations dedicated to the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding worldwide. The fourth session was taken by Dr. Smriti G. Solomon, Principal, Index Nursing College on “Psychological aspects of breastfeeding in working mothers” at 12:30pm. The session focussed on the factors which affects working breastfeeding parents at workplace. The session was followed by lunch break of 1 hour. The last session of the day was on “Hands on practice and health teaching to clients” and the speakers were Ms. Nainika Joseph, Ms. Shaifali Patidar, Ms. Neha Chouhan and Ms. Roshni Dabi, Clinical Instructo, Index Nursing College in which they have discussed and demonstrated about advantages of breastfeeding, risk of not breastfeeding, techniques and latching signs of breastfeeding and skill of expressing breastmilk. Post test was conducted at 3:00pm continued with the valedictory session, Chief guest was honoured with momento and certificate. Continuing the session token of appreciation and certificates were distributed to resource persons and students. A total of 87 delegates attended the program. The program was a great success with the hard work of all the organizers.
Index Nursing College affiliated to Malwanchal University organized NATIONAL HYBRID CONFERENCE ON “SICKLE CELL AWARENESS IN COLLABORATION WITH NATIONAL SCHOLAR SCOCIETY” on 08/08/2023 with the commendation of Mr. Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman, Index and Amaltas Group of Institutions. The program was organized for one conference and the timings were from 9:00 am to 4:00pm. The day was started with registration at 9:00am. This was followed by inaugural ceremony. The inauguration Principal Dr Prof Smriti G Solomon and Organizing Secretary Dr Reena Thakur HOD Dept of Medical Surgical Nursing. After lamp lighting, welcome speech and address of chief guest was delivered by Ms. Nainika Joseph tutor Index Nursing College at 9:30am. The first educative session was given by the Dr. Binu Joe Founder President of Nursing Scholar Society Gujarat on sickle cell disease and its components. The second session was started at 10:45am to 11:30am on clinical manifestations and lab investigations of sickle cell disease by Dr Sheela Upendra Deputy Director and Professor Symbiosis College of Nursing Symbiosis International Deemed University Pune. Third session was taken by Dr Jasneet Kour Associate Professor & HOD Symbiosis College of Nursing Symbiosis International Deemed University Pune on strategies for treatment and life threatening complications of sickle cell disease. Nest session was started at 12.15pm on mental health and sickle cell disease by Prof Dr Smriti G Solomon Principal Index Nursing College. The session was followed by lunch. The conference is resume at 02:00pm by Dr Reena Thakur HOD Dept Medical Surgical Nursing Index Nursing College on role of nurse in care of sickle cell disease. The program was concluded by a valedictory session. Mr. Ankush Patrick Professor Index Nursing College proposed vote of thanks.
