Brief about Index Nursing College

Index Nursing College, Indore (M.P.) was established under the aegis of Mayank Welfare Society in September 2007. The Institute is situated at open green area of Indore just 18 K.M. from the heart of city and the campus is natured with abundance of greenery.

With the permission of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi & Madhya Pradesh Nurses Registration Council, Bhopal, B.Sc. Nursing program was started in 2007 with an annual intake of 40 seats and it was affiliated with Devi Ahiliya Vishwavidyalaya. Since 2015 it is affiliated to Malwanchal University, Indore (M.P.).

The college has well qualified and committed faculties striving towards the comprehensive development of students. We have well built infrastructure.

The students will feel proud to be the part of this institute as it imparts education with the most advanced teaching methods and extensive clinical experience which equips them to face challenges of modern health care system and also institute will prove a milestone in shaping up their career and bright future.


Philosophy

Index Nursing College believes that social transformation is possible only through dynamic education to both girls and boys.

We believe in intellectual awakening of students by excellent quality education which equips them in meeting the health needs of different spheres of society.

We believe that the post graduate, under graduate and diploma nursing programmes provided by our college is an academic framework specifically directed to development of skills, competencies and standards on which the practice of nursing is built.

Our college also believes in preparing our students as superior citizens by adhering to code of ethics and professional conduct at all times in fulfilling personal and professional obligations as to respond to global aspirations.

Mission

Our mission is to be a leading edge nursing educational institution devoted to prepare nurses to provide multidisciplinary and integrated health services to clients globally and to conduct evidence based research to increase the body of knowledge of nursing profession.


Aims

The aims of nursing programmes run by the institution are:-

  • To prepare skilled nurses to assume responsibility, make independent decision, accept challenges and apply knowledge and skills in practice to become a competent nurse in providing promotive, preventive curative and rehabilitative services to the people across their life span in wide variety of health care setting in hospitals and community area.
  • To prepare graduate nurses to assume the role of nurse educator, clinical instructor, nurse supervisor, manager, research, leader, advocate and counselor etc. in clinical and public health settings.

Objectives

The objectives of our institution is to prepare our students to

  • Demonstrate advanced competence in practice of nursing by providing nursing care based on steps of nursing process in collaboration with the individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills in making decisions in all situations in order to provide quality care.
  • Provide promotive, preventive, curative and restorative health services based on national health policies and programs.
  • Demonstrate understanding of health practices, culture and beliefs, behaviour and other factors, which affect health of individuals and community.
  • Practice code of ethics and professional conduct and acceptable standards within the legal boundaries.
  • Establish collaborative relationship with members of other disciplines.
  • Participate effectively as members of the health team in health care delivery system.
  • Demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and groups in clinical and community health settings.
  • Utilize the latest innovations and technologies in providing health care to meet the challenges in today’s dynamic and globalized health care environment.
  • Demonstrate awareness, interest and contribute towards advancement of self and of the profession.
  • Conduct evidenced based researches in various settings and utilizes the research findings to improve the quality of care.
