Index Institute of Dental Sciences (Malwanchal University, Indore [Madhya Pradesh]) took the initiative to establish the Satellite Dental Clinic in Central Jail, Indore.

The Inaugural Ceremony of this Dental Unit was honored by the presence of Shri Tulsiram Silawat (Cabinet Minister, Department of Public Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh.

This Inaugural event was successfully organized by the joint efforts of the Teaching Faculty and Interns of Index Institute of Dental Sciences.

Central Jail, Indore has more than 1,000 inhabitants. These inhabitants had to be taken to Government Hospitals for dental treatment. Several times, this was not possible due to security reasons. In such instances, the availability of the Dental unit within the Jail premises will enable the inhabitants to be able to avail dental treatment promptly due to the noble initiative by Index Institute of Dental Sciences.

On the occasion of Annual Cultural Festival, the Cultural Committee under the supervision of Dr.Poonam Tomar Rana and guidance of Dr.Satish Karandhikar (Dean, IIDS), Dr. Rolly Agrawal (Vice Dean, IIDS) conducted the cultural events, Athena-2019.
The events were organized under the umbrella of Malwanchal University.

To encourage high student participation, different themes were allotted on following days:

• 25th November 2019- Retro Day
• 26th November 2019- Traditional Day
• 27th November 2019- Mismatch Day
• 28th November 2019- Ballroom Day

Events for different sections of art and craft were intended to spread awareness towards social causes.

T-shirt painting- Health is Wealth
Poster- Antiragging
Sketching- road traffic

Students and staff of Index Institute of Dental Sciences participated in the cultural events with great enthusiasm.
