Index Nursing College, a constituent unit of Malwanchal University Indore organized an program on Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) “Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta” on the occasion of Gandhi jayanti on 1st October. 2023 under the blessings of Mr. Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman, Index and Amaltas Institute of Medical Sciences. under the guidance and motivation of Dr. (Prof).Smrit i G. Solomon, Principal, Index Nursing College Indore. The program was organized by Prof. Berlin Sara Thampy, HOD & Professor, Child Health Nursing department PM Modi announces one hours mega cleanliness drive on October 1st 2023 at 10 AM, encouraging citizens to participate in the campaign. The Swachh Bharat Mission was launched on October 2nd 2014 as the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti that commemorates birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi also known as Mahatma, Bapu or Father of the Nation. He demonstrated, propagated and insisted for individual and community cleanliness throughout his life. Following his footprints, Swachh bharat Mission campaign achieved encouraging results. This vision will be translated into action by bringing in community participation for clean toilets and integrated waste management to make Madhya Pradesh open defecation free, zero waste, dust free, plastic free and green.
Objectives of the program
The motivate communities and Panchayati Raj Institutions promoting sustainable sanitation facilities through awareness creation and health education, promoting safe and appropriate hygiene practices in College and behaviour among Students, to eliminate the burden of communicable disease which India has like Malaria, Diarrhea, Cholera.
It is everybody’s responsibility and one should keep themselves and their surroundings clean and hygienic. It also brings good and positive thoughts in the mind which slows down the occurrence of diseases. Shramdan activates also been carried out at various areas inside the Campus. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant cleanliness campaign by the Government of India. Its responsibility of the entire citizens to keep their surrounding clean. community people were encouraged to maintain their surrounding clean. Thus the students of Index nursing college have initiated one steps towards- cleanliness”.
On October 8th, 2023, Index Nursing College, a constituent unit of Malwanchal University, Indore, actively participated in a Mega Health Camp organized under the support of Mr. Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman, Index Group of Institutes, and with the guidance of Dr. (Prof.) Smriti G. Solomon, Principal, Index Nursing College. The organizing secretary for the event was Dr. Prabhanshu Vyas, Professor, Community Health Nursing Department.
The Mega Health Camp was held at Kankeshwari Garbha Ground, Indore, as part of the "Healthy Indore Mission." The event saw participation from the NSS volunteers of Index Nursing College, providing them with a valuable opportunity to serve the local community and contribute to the mission of promoting health and wellness.
The health camp was a significant initiative aligned with the vision of making Indore the health capital of India. On the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a health horoscope initiative was launched in assembly numbers 1, 2, and 3 of Indore. This initiative involved door-to-door health assessments to provide free healthcare services to the local population.
The Mega Health Camp was organized in the backdrop of a political rivalry between the Congress and BJP, with both parties aiming to engage the public through health-related services. While Congress leader Sanjay Shukla emphasized his contributions during his tenure as the MLA, BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya initiated door-to-door health checkups in the region, encouraging people to visit the Mega Health Camp and avail themselves of the free health services.
The camp aimed to assess the health status of residents and provide free medical treatments, a major step towards the welfare of the local population. The Swasth Indore Mission, running from October 3rd to 8th, also saw doctors and nursing staff visit homes to check the health of individuals, ensuring no one was left without healthcare support.
The Mega Health Camp was an exceptional event, offering free health checkups, treatments, and health assessments for the people of Indore, marking a milestone in the city's journey to becoming a healthier and more prosperous community.
Index Nursing College, a constituent unit of Malwanchal University, Indore organized Matdata Jagrukta Manav Shrankhla on 30/10/2023. The Matdata Jagrukta Manav Shrankhla was organized under the support of Mr. Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman, Index Group of Institutes and with the guidance of Dr.(Prof.) Smriti G Solomon, Principal,Index Nursing College The Organizing Secretary was Dr. Prabhanshu Vyas Professor Community health Nursing department. The program timings were from 10:00 AM to 01:00PM at Gram Morodhat. NSS wing took participation in “Matdata Jagrukta Manav Shrankhla” which was conducted by Index Nursing College Around 70 NSS students of Index Nursing College participated in Manav Shrankhla. Our volunteers started making Manav Shrankhla at Gram Morodhat opposite Government School Gram Mordhat at 12.05 PM. Our volunteers carried awareness boards to create awareness among people. Our volunteers reached the reached the college around by 1.00 PM.
