Index Nursing College, part of Malwanchal University, organized a heartfelt farewell ceremony on April 2, 2024, for the final-year students of B.Sc. Nursing and GNM Nursing. Held in the college auditorium at noon, the event celebrated the students' achievements while marking their transition from academic life to professional nursing careers.
Guided by Principal Dr. Smriti G. Solomon, the ceremony was a blend of joyful performances, inspirational speeches, and warm farewells. Highlights included spirited dance performances to Haryanvi and Punjabi songs and touching musical tributes from juniors to seniors, creating a memorable atmosphere.
Dignitaries, including Dr. Ramgoolam Razdan, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Malwanchal University, addressed the students, emphasizing the dedication needed in nursing and the array of career opportunities ahead. Dr. Solomon shared insights on the global demand for skilled nurses, encouraging students to uphold excellence as they embark on their professional journeys.
Special awards were presented during the ceremony, with Pradeep and Sakshi Dabi (B.Sc. Nursing), and Vijay Chauhan and Kaushar Khan (GNM Nursing), being honored with Mr. and Miss Farewell titles for their outstanding contributions and conduct.
The event concluded with a mix of nostalgia and excitement, underscoring the close bonds between students and faculty. Attended by hundreds of students and faculty members, including Dr. Reena Thakur, Dr. Anu V. Kumar, and Dr. Bidyani Devi, the farewell celebrated the nurturing environment of Index Nursing College. Index Nursing College, affiliated with Malwanchal University, celebrated World Water Day on 22nd March 2024, with the theme "Leveraging Water for Peace." The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Smriti G. Solomon, Principal of Index Nursing College, and with the blessings of Mr. Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman of Index and Amaltas Group of Institutions.
The program commenced at 2:00 pm, aimed at raising awareness about the significance of water in fostering peace and promoting equitable access to water resources globally. Shri Sudhindra Mohan Sharma, Advisor- Water Resource Management, National Drinking Water Security Pilot Projects, Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Government of India, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
The inauguration began with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Principal Dr. Smriti G. Solomon, the organizing secretary, and faculty members. Following this, a welcome speech was delivered by Ms. Nainika Joseph, Tutor, Index Nursing College, highlighting the importance of World Water Day and the theme for the year.
Shri Sudhindra Mohan Sharma addressed the gathering, emphasizing the critical role water plays in fostering peace and stability. He elaborated on the global water crisis, stressing the need for clean and safe water for health, sanitation, agriculture, and industry. His presentation also highlighted how sustainable water management can prevent conflicts, promote cooperation, and encourage social justice, equity, and climate resilience.
The session concluded with the Chief Guest being honored with a memento and certificate, followed by a vote of thanks by Ms. Nainika Joseph. The program was attended by 350 delegates, including faculty, students, and distinguished guests, and was a great success thanks to the efforts of all organizers.
On February 14, 2024, Index Nursing College, affiliated with Malwanchal University, celebrated Basant Panchami with vibrant enthusiasm. Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Smriti G. Solomon and with the blessings of Chairman Shree Suresh Singh Bhadoria, the event was marked by a blend of cultural, religious, and educational activities, highlighting the spirit of this auspicious festival.
The celebration began with a traditional puja dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of knowledge and arts, where students, faculty, and attendees gathered to seek blessings for wisdom and academic success. Following the puja, students performed a soulful rendition of *Saraswati Vandana*, a tribute that emphasized the role of education and creativity in life.
The cultural program that ensued featured diverse performances, celebrating the rich heritage and unity within the college community. The ritual of aarti and the distribution of sacrament further enhanced the spiritual ambiance, symbolizing the blessings of Goddess Saraswati.
More than 100 students actively participated in the festivities, making the Basant Panchami celebration a joyful and meaningful experience. This event reflected Index Nursing College’s dedication to holistic education, cultural enrichment, and the pursuit of knowledge, fostering a sense of unity and reverence among all present.
