Students of Index Nursing College, Malwanchal University, Indore, have once again brought pride to the institution by achieving outstanding success at the 31st Biennial State Conference of the Student Nurses’ Association of India (SNA). The prestigious event, hosted at R.D. Memorial College, Bhopal, saw participation from over a thousand nursing students representing various institutions across Madhya Pradesh. Competing with dedication and enthusiasm, the students of Index Nursing College demonstrated exceptional talent in quiz, painting, dance, pencil sketch, and several other cultural and academic competitions, securing top honors in multiple categories.
A total of 22 students from Index Nursing College participated in the event, and 20 students emerged as winners, showcasing the college’s excellence in nursing education and overall personality development. Particularly commendable were the performances in the quiz and pencil sketch competitions, where two teams from the college qualified for the National Round. The achievers were felicitated in a special ceremony held at the college in the esteemed presence of Chairman Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Vice Chairman Mr. Mayankraj Singh Bhadoria, Principal Dr. Smriti G. Solomon, Vice Principal Dr. Sudarshana Prince, Additional Director Administration and Planning Dr. R.C. Yadav, Director of Nursing College Mr. Deepak Mishra, Mr. Nirbhay Singh, and team leaders Mr. Deepak Rajput and Ms. Nainika Joseph. Their guidance and mentorship played a key role in the students’ success.
Chairman Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria congratulated the students on their remarkable achievement and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in academics and professional growth. He emphasized that such accomplishments reflect the vision and commitment of the Index Group toward nurturing skilled, confident, and compassionate healthcare professionals. Vice Chairman Mr. Mayankraj Singh Bhadoria commended the students for their teamwork, discipline, and determination, stating that their success not only honors Index Nursing College but also enhances Indore’s reputation as a center of quality education. Principal Dr. Smriti G. Solomon added that these achievements are the outcome of consistent training, motivation, and holistic guidance provided by the Index Group which continues to prepare students for excellence at the national level.
In celebration of World Breastfeeding Week 2025, Index Nursing College, Malwanchal University, organized an insightful awareness seminar on the theme “Prioritize Breastfeeding: Build a Sustainable Support System”. The event was held at the auditorium of Index Medical College under the guidance and visionary leadership of Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman of Index Group of Institutions. The program aimed to highlight the vital role breastfeeding plays in ensuring the health and well-being of infants. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Rakhi Chandel, Head of the Pediatric Nursing Department at Choithram College of Nursing, who emphasized the nutritional, emotional, and immunological benefits of breastfeeding. She explained that mother’s milk is a complete and natural source of nourishment, essential for the growth, development, and immunity of newborns, while also strengthening the emotional bond between mother and child.
The seminar was presided over by Dr. Smriti G. Solomon, Principal of Index Nursing College, Indore. The event was organized by the Department of Child Health Nursing and the Department of Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing under the leadership of Dr. Berlin Sara Thampi, Head of the Child Health Nursing Department, and Dr. Anu V. Kumar, Head of the OBG Department. Participants included nursing students, faculty members, and healthcare professionals, all of whom actively engaged in the discussions. The program also sought to encourage mothers to choose breastfeeding as the primary source of nutrition for their infants and to spread awareness about its short-term and long-term health benefits.
Throughout the session, speakers shed light on how breastfeeding not only ensures the physical health of infants but also plays a significant role in enhancing their immune defenses. It was highlighted that exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life can significantly reduce the risk of infections, malnutrition, and other childhood illnesses. The seminar also underscored the importance of creating a supportive environment for mothers, including family encouragement, workplace policies, and community awareness. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. Roshni Dabi, expressing gratitude to all the speakers, organizers, and participants, and extending special appreciation to Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria for his constant support and dedication to promoting health and education initiatives.
