Guru Purnima 2025: A Tribute to Teachers at Index Nursing College

Index Nursing College, a proud constituent unit of Malwanchal University, celebrated Guru Purnima with deep reverence and cultural fervor on 10th July 2025 at 2:00 PM. The event was organized under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Nitin Chicholkar, Assistant Professor, Mental Health Nursing, and guided by Dr. (Prof.) Smriti G. Solomon, Principal, Index Nursing College. Guru Purnima, a sacred occasion in Indian tradition, is dedicated to expressing gratitude towards teachers and mentors who illuminate the path of knowledge, wisdom, and character building. The celebration aimed to reinforce the timeless Indian values of respect, humility, and devotion toward one's gurus.

The event was graced by the enthusiastic participation of B.Sc. Nursing 1st Semester students and was held in the serene ambiance of the college porch. The program began with a traditional puja ceremony to honor and invoke the blessings of the gurus. Students actively took part in the rituals, and the distribution of prasad followed, symbolizing a shared expression of gratitude. The entire event was not only a cultural tribute but also a reflection of the strong moral and ethical foundation laid by the institution in shaping responsible and compassionate healthcare professionals.

The success of the celebration echoed the vision of Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman of Index Group of Institutions, whose unwavering commitment to value-based education continues to inspire students and educators alike. International Nurses Day 2025 Celebration at Index Nursing College

Index Nursing College, a proud constituent unit of Malwanchal University, celebrated International Nurses Day on 12th May 2025 with great enthusiasm and respect. The event followed this year’s global theme “Our Nurses, Our Future: Caring for Nurses Strengthens Economies”, highlighting the critical role of nurses in delivering quality healthcare and supporting the strength of national health systems. The program was organized under the leadership of Dr. Reena Thakur, HOD, Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, and the guidance of Dr. (Prof.) Smriti G. Solomon, Principal of Index Nursing College. The celebration was made possible by the continuous encouragement and visionary leadership of Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman, Index Group of Institutions, whose commitment to academic and healthcare excellence has always inspired the college to pursue impactful initiatives.

Held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the college lecture hall, the event was attended by both teaching and non-teaching staff. Mrs. Nainika Joseph, Nursing Tutor, anchored the program. The event paid tribute to Florence Nightingale, whose legacy as the "Lady with the Lamp" laid the foundation for modern nursing. Her commitment during the Crimean War and the establishment of the Nightingale Training School continue to inspire generations. The occasion was a reminder of the evolving responsibilities of nurses and the need for ongoing support in terms of education, workforce development, and well-being to meet today’s healthcare challenges.

The celebration served as a reflection on the immense value nurses bring to patient care, public health, and community resilience. It emphasized that a robust healthcare system cannot exist without a professionally trained and empowered nursing workforce. The program echoed a strong message—nurses truly make a difference: anytime, anywhere, always. With this meaningful observance, Index Nursing College reaffirmed its commitment to preparing compassionate and skilled nursing professionals who can contribute effectively to healthcare at both national and global levels, all under the enduring support and leadership of Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria.


International Yoga Day Celebration 2025 “Yoga for Self and Society”

Index Nursing College, a premier constituent unit of Malwanchal University, Indore, celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2025 with great enthusiasm and a strong spirit of unity and well-being. The celebration was held under the global theme “Yoga for Self and Society” and was graced by the vision and support of Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman, Index Group of Institutions, whose continuous encouragement plays a vital role in promoting holistic health practices across all institutions under the group. Under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Smriti G. Solomon, Principal of Index Nursing College, the event was meticulously organized to instill awareness about the transformative power of yoga in the lives of future healthcare professionals.

The event commenced at 9:30 AM in the college garden and witnessed enthusiastic participation of around 150 B.Sc. Nursing students from the 1st Semester and 3rd Year, along with faculty members. The practical yoga session, conducted by Dr. Naveen Kumar Jaiswal, HOD of Community Health Nursing, included a sequence of yoga asanas, pranayama (breathing exercises), and guided meditation, promoting both physical flexibility and mental calmness. Dr. Nitin Chicholkar, Assistant Professor of Mental Health Nursing, also played an active role in coordinating the event. The session beautifully demonstrated yoga’s capacity to unify body, mind, and spirit, echoing the central message of this year’s theme.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Smriti G. Solomon highlighted the immense benefits of incorporating yoga into daily life, especially for those in the nursing profession who deal with physical and emotional demands. She emphasized that regular yoga practice enhances physical stamina, emotional resilience, and spiritual well-being. The program not only reinforced the importance of maintaining personal health but also encouraged students to act as ambassadors of yoga in the community. Through such meaningful initiatives, Index Nursing College continues to uphold its commitment to producing well-rounded healthcare professionals who can contribute positively to society by embracing the ancient wisdom of yoga for modern-day wellness.
