Better Health Through Better Routine: A National Conference on World Health Awareness Day

On World Health Awareness Day, Index Nursing College and Malwanchal University organized a Hybrid National Conference at the Index Medical College auditorium, bringing together healthcare professionals and students from across India. This enlightening event was held under the joint collaboration of Index Nursing College and Bombay Hospital College of Nursing. With notable speakers from Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Chhattisgarh, the conference highlighted the importance of maintaining a balanced routine for better health. The chief guest, Dr. Sanjeev Narang, Vice Chancellor of Malwanchal University, along with other experts like Dr. A.K. Jain, Dr. Smriti Ji Solomon, and Dr. M.S. Vinci, shared valuable insights on the role of lifestyle choices in promoting well-being.

The central theme of the conference, "Better Health through Better Routine," emphasized the alarming rise in health issues like heart attacks and chronic diseases, which are often linked to deteriorating routines. Dr. A.K. Jain elaborated on the significance of regular sleep patterns, proper nutrition, and seasonal diets to maintain good health. He pointed out that while doctors treat illnesses, it is our natural rhythms and routines that help us stay healthy. Dr. Sanjeev Narang echoed this thought, stressing that the traditional knowledge of food and routines, rooted in our culture, can safeguard our health in today's fast-paced world.

In addition to the informative sessions, students from Bombay Hospital Nursing College demonstrated yoga poses to underscore the importance of physical activity in daily routines. Dr. Smriti Ji Solomon emphasized the need for a positive mindset, as mental stress can lead to physical ailments. Other discussions focused on emotional intelligence, health insurance, hydration, and nutrition. The conference served as an invaluable platform for students to learn and integrate better health practices into their routines, reinforcing the importance of adopting healthier lifestyles to prevent long-term health problems.



Induction Program Welcomes Nursing Students at Index Nursing College

Index Nursing College, a distinguished part of Malwanchal University, recently organized a successful Induction Program to warmly welcome and orient the newly admitted students for the academic year. The event was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Smriti G. Solomon, Principal of Index Nursing College, and served as an essential platform to introduce students to the academic, professional, and cultural environment of the institution.

The program commenced with a warm welcome and a detailed orientation by Dr. Bidyanai Devi and Dr. Prabhanshu Vyas. Their session provided a comprehensive overview of the M.Sc. Nursing curriculum, outlining key academic expectations, course outcomes, and career opportunities in advanced nursing. Their engaging presentations gave postgraduate students a clear understanding of the program’s structure while emphasizing the importance of research, clinical practice, and lifelong learning in nursing.

Dr. Smriti G. Solomon then addressed the gathering with an inspiring message, elaborating on the B.Sc. Nursing syllabus, assessment patterns, and the need to balance academic excellence with clinical expertise. She encouraged the students to pursue their studies with compassion, dedication, and professionalism values that are foundational to nursing. The program concluded with an interactive session where students had the opportunity to clarify their doubts, express their aspirations, and engage with faculty members. Anuroop 2025: A Celebration of Tradition, Talent, and Triumph

09th to 10th April, 2025

Anuroop 2025, the annual academic and cultural fest of Index Nursing College, Malwanchal University, was celebrated with immense enthusiasm and grandeur on April 8th and 9th, 2025. The two-day event served as a platform to honor academic excellence and showcase the vibrant talents of students across multiple disciplines. The first day was marked by the convocation ceremony, where gold medals were awarded to meritorious students in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka, Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot. Graduation degrees were conferred to 300 nursing students, with an emotional oath-taking ceremony reinforcing the values of compassion and dedication in the healthcare profession.

The second day brought energy and creativity to the forefront with a series of cultural events, including solo and duet singing, Bollywood-themed dance performances, and a vibrant fashion show. A major highlight was the Skit Competition based on the theme “A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity”. Held at the Index Cricket Ground, the competition saw participation from three selected teams representing different departments. The winning act, “Pizza and Paratha Skit Club” from the Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences, stood out for its storytelling, presentation, and relevance. Judges appreciated the originality, coordination, and cultural blend portrayed through the performances.

Anuroop 2025 concluded with an award ceremony and a heartfelt vote of thanks, recognizing the efforts of students, faculty, organizers, and dignitaries who made the event a resounding success. The celebration not only highlighted the academic achievements of students but also reflected the institution’s commitment to nurturing creativity, unity, and leadership among its learners. With tradition at its core and innovation in its spirit, Anuroop 2025 left a lasting impression on everyone present, reinforcing Malwanchal University’s reputation as a hub of excellence in education and student development.
