Dr. Sudhir Bansod :
 

Dr Sudhir Bansod is Freelancer consultant, Drug safety and Medical affairs to major pharmaceutical companies in Switzerland and Germany and also Visiting Faculty, Diploma in Clinical research course (pharmacovigilance module) at Indian Institute of Public Health, Delhi, India.

His academic qualifications are MD, Dip Dermatology, ECPM (Switzerland)

He has been Assistant Professor in Physiology at Poona, India from 1992 – 1996, Clinical Research Physician, Clin Pharm Research AG, Basel, Switzerland from 1997 – 1998, Clinical Research Physician, Institute for Pharma Research Riehen, Switzerland in 1999, Drug Safety Physician, Chiron Corporation, Basel, Switzerland from 2000 to 2002, Clinical Research Physician, Novartis pharma, Basel, Switzerland in Feb. - April 2002, Clinical Scientist, F. Hoffmann La Roche Basel, Switzerland May 2002 – Sept. 2003 Safety Science Leader, F. Hoffmann La Roche Basel, Switzerland from Oct 2003 – Dec 2007.

He is having a number of Publications in various reputed journals. He has been active research scientist in different phases of clinical trials conducted by different reputed pharmaceutical organizations.

He is the key person to this workshop, aimed to provide an understanding of the basic concepts of pharmacovigilance and their application for collection and processing of adverse events, detection and evaluation of safety signals, and planning risk management strategies. He is the right fellow to review current scenarios in pharmacovigilance in India as well as internationally.

Dr. Santanu K Tripathi :
 

Dr. Santanu K Tripathi is Professor & Head of Clinical & Experimental Pharmacology, Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine, Kolkata. His academic qualifications are MBBS, MD (Pharmacology), DM (Clinical Pharmacology).

He is having teaching Experience of 27 years with sixty research and review articles Publications in National & International journals and also authored / edited/ contributed in a chapter in ten (10) books..

He is MCI Assessor for UG and PG (MD Pharmacology) courses in India, Coordinator-Investigator, Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Centre (AMC) at Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine, Kolkata under Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), Government of India. He is National Faculty on Medication Management, National Initiative in Patient Safety (NIPS), Govt of India, Member-Secretary, West Bengal Task Force on Morphine Availability, President, India Society for Study of Pain (ISSP), West Bengal Chapter,Member of the Post Graduate Council, University of Health Sciences, Kolkata, Member / Chair, Clinical Research Ethics Committee of several institutions in Kolkata.

He is Life Member of many professional societies and a member of Drug Information Association (DIA) Advisory Council of India. He has Contributed in the development of the international document on pharmacovigilance, ‘ISDB EU: Berlin Declaration on Pharmacovigilance’, Berlin, January 2005. He was the key expert contributor in developing the State Drug Policy for West Bengal in 2005 and also awarded the 'Doctor of the Year Award' by Students Health Home, Kolkata in 2005, for contribution in the field of health care.

His major areas of research interest are Clinical research management and ethics in clinical research, Pharmacovigilance, patient safety and medication management, Rational use of medicines and people’s access to essential medicines, Pain and palliative care,Innovations in health and medical education, training and capacity building activities.

Dr. Suryaprakash Dhaneria :
 

Dr. Suryaprakash Dhaneria is Professor and Head in Department of Pharmacology, AIIMS Raipur. He is MD (Pharmacology), DM (Clinical Pharmacology), DNB (Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics), M.Sc (Biochemistry), LLB Hons. Additionally he is also trained for research methodology course (PGI), advanced Course in Epidemiology and Biostatistics (Sweden), National Training Course on Pharmacovigilance (WHO) and for MEU Coordinators.

He is having a post MD teaching Experience of 27 years with 10 National & 6 International Publications and 7 National & 11 International presentations. He has delivered more than 50 guest lectures.

He is Life Member of Indian Pharmacological Society, Association of Physiologist and Pharmacologist of India, Indian Society of Rational Pharmacotherapeutics, Clinical Biochemist of India and Vice-president of Indian Society of Rational Pharmacotherapeutics. His major areas of interest are Rational Pharmacotherapeutics & Pharmacovigilance.

Dr. Prem Nyati :
 

Dr. Prem Nyati is Vice-Dean, Professor & Head in Department of Pharmacology, Index Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Indore. He is MD (Pharmacology), actively involved in teaching and generating interest of students in Pharmacology since 30 years. He has been teaching in M.G.M. Medical College, Indore for 25 years, S.S.Medical College, Rewa for 2 years and Index Medical College, Indore since 3 years.

He is a prolific writer of a very simple, student friendly, updated book Pharmacology-SEED , published by Globalmedik Publisher, New Delhi 2nd edition 2011. This is the only book that is providing the weekly updates to the students through facebook.

He is regularly conducting workshops and special classes for PG aspiring students on recent advances in Pharmacotherapy, magic of drug nomenclatures and clues to sharpen drug memory. His regular feature ‘Dr.Nyati’s Corner’ in Medicozlemon, a national magazine for UG and pre PG aspiring student was a distinct identity of complete updates of the latest drugs, trends and concepts with the maintenance of simplicity and clarity.

He is Life Member of Indian Pharmacological Society, Association of Physiologist and Pharmacologist of India and I.M.A. He has been Ex-member of Board of Studies of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, and of Awadhesh Pratap Singh Vishwavidyalaya, Rewa, India .

At Index Medical College, he is Vice-Dean, coordinator of Medical Education Unit, Scientific Academic Forum and Student Section.

Dr. Sachin Kuchya :
 

Dr. Sachin Kuchya is Assistant Professor in Department of Pharmacology at NSCB Medical College, Jabalpur,M.P. He is MD (Pharmacology), DNB (Pharmacology), CCEBDM - Certificate course In Evidence based Diabetes Management. He has a vide clinical research experience on different projects. He has delivered a number of lectures at CME’s. He has participated in National Workshop on Clinical Pharmacology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, 21st- 28th Feb 05, Pharmatech 2005, “Windows to the world of Pharmacology”,KEM, Mumbai 13th- 22nd Jun 05, Workshop on Pharmacovigilance at PHFI, New Delhi from 21st – 24th feb 2012.

He is Life Member of Indian Pharmacological Society & Indian Medical Association

Dr. Sukanta Sen :
 

Dr.Sukanta Sen is DM- Clinical Pharmacology Post Doctoral Trainee, Dept of Clinical & Experimental Pharmacology, School of Tropical Medicine, 108 CR Avenue, Kolkata-700073.

He is MD (Pharmacology), DNB (Pharmacology), PDCR, PGDPHM . He has been as Assist & Associate Professor at Index Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Indore. He has 10 research paper publications in different reputed journal.

He worked as Research Associate in Phase III study of arterolane plus piperaquine in Vivax Malaria trial. He has done comparative drug study in type2 diabetes patients. He is currently doing outcomes research on chronic pain management involving dedicated pain clinics and routine health care facilities at Kolkata; drug utilization research in pain clinics, Medical college ICU and psychiatry OPD and allergy and asthma clinic. He is Life Member of Indian Pharmacological Society, Society of Biological Scientist of India & Indian Society of Rational Pharmacotherapeutics.

His Future Plans are to establish Drug Information Unit/Pharmacovigilance Centre & TDM (Therapeutic drug monitoring services) in a teaching hospital which can provide round the clock information related to medicines and toxicology
