National Doctors' Day Celebration

1st July, 2017

National Doctors' Day is recognized in India every year on 1st of July in honour of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a famous medical professional who was awarded the "Bharat Ratna". Index Institute of Dental Sciences celebrated this day with vigor and enthusiasm under the guidance of Dr. Priyank Banthia, Dean, IIDS. Hon'ble Justice Mr.Prabhat Chandra Tripathi (Allahabad) inspired the audience with his encouraging words.

Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria (Chairman, Mayank Welfare Society), Dr. M. Christopher (Registrar, Malwanchal University), Ms.L.Tamphasana Devi (Vice Principal, Index Nursing College), and several other respected Senior Officials, Teaching Faculty, Nonteaching staff and students graced the occasion.

Mr. N.K. Tripathi (Vice-Chancellor, Malwanchal University), Dr. Priyank Banthia (Dean, IIDS), Ms.Chitra Khirwadkar (Administrator, IMCHRC) and Dr.Utpal Mazumdar (Professor and Head, Dept. of Oral Surgery) provided valuable insights in the order of events mentioned.




RBSK (Rashtriya Bal Swathya Karyakram) and NHM (National Health Mission)

Meeting held in Bhopal (M.P.) on 24th June, 2017

RBSK is a new initiative aimed at screening of children from 0-18 years age for 4Ds (Defects at birth, Diseases, Deficiencies and Development Delays including Disabilities). Children diagnosed and treated with illness shall receive follow up including surgeries at tertiary level, free of cost under NHM (National Health Mission).

The main programmatic components of NHM include Health System Strengthening in rural and urban areas, i.e., Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A), and Communicable and Non-Communicable diseases. The NHM envisages achievement of universal access to equitable, affordable and quality health care services that are accountable and responsive to people's needs.

The proposed plan for Oral Health Care Programme in Madhya Pradesh encompasses:

  • Oral case screening programme in village and urban deprived areas including extension of dental diagnosis, services, referral at block level through dental mobile units.
  • Oral case screening in schools of districts including extension of dental diagnosis, services, referral at block level through District and Civil Hospital and Dental Units of Medical Colleges. It also aims at strengthening of the tertiary level care in Dental College by Mobile Dental Units and integration of private Dental College treatment package and training of Dental Surgeons in District Hospital.
